Library 1- Everyday Observations
They say to write what you know, so here is a look at some of the topics that cause me to pause and reflect.
Cancer Is A Coward
Cancer Says You Are
Lines
I was thinking about the pressure women face to stay young looking, when I think we should celebrate our "WRINKLES".
I Am Perfectly Imperfect
Just thinking again on how the media projects that if we are not young or perfect, we should not be seen. Again, I say celebrate your imperfections.
Fearless
As women, we are unfortunately ruled to some degree by our hormones, so somedays we do feel more confident and then we have days we feel defeated.
I Am Alive
I love the water: It relaxes me and spurs my creativity. I do some of my best writing while floating in my pool. I hope to retire somewhere near the ocean.
Quilts
My mom was always sewing. She made a lot of our clothes and they were gorgeous pieces. Wish I still had some of them. This was me attempting to relate relationships to sewing.
Memories
This was birthed while floating in the pool. I was thinking of my paternal grandmother mainly, but was just trying to capture that idea when a memory just pops in your head so suddenly and can cause such a visceral reaction.
Panic
I have suffered with generalized anxiety most of my adult life. A snapshot of what anxiety/panic can feel like.
Images
I am what you would call sentimental. This is my wondering on how our brain chooses which memories to keep and how some memories we want to keep get lost in the shuffle.
Passing Thoughts
This for me is the writing process...A word or thought that blooms into something more.
Sleep Runs and I Chase It
This was actually written from an Instagram prompt. I don't normally write like that, but wanted to challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone.
